BALDWIN PARK, CA – The City of Baldwin Park is proud to announce the launch of the BaldwinPark Emergency Relief Program, a new initiative aimed at supporting local families facing financial hardship due to recent federal immigration enforcement actions.
To deliver this support to its residents, the City has partnered with Los Angeles County Chair Pro Tem and First District Supervisor Hilda L. Solis and local businesses. Together, the coalition will provide direct assistance to vulnerable Baldwin Park households during this time of need.
“Baldwin Park has always stood as a community united in compassion, dignity and resilience,” saidBaldwin Park Mayor Alejandra Avila. “In light of these recent events, we are stepping up to protect and support our families. We are proud to partner with our community leaders to provide immediate relief and stand in solidarity with those affected. Together, we remain united. Together, we remain resilient.”
The Emergency Relief Program will begin accepting applications from Baldwin Park residents onThursday, July 31. To launch the program, the Baldwin Park City Council approved $216,000 in seed funding, with an additional $50,000 allocated by Chair Pro Tem Hilda L. Solis in a strong show of regional support. By combining City and County resources, the program aims to deliver timely, targeted relief to households in urgent need.
“Now more than ever, we must stand together to protect the well-being and dignity of our communities,”said Chair Pro Tem Solis. “That is why I’ve passed 11 actions at the Board of Supervisors to ensure our families have the resources and protection needed to navigate this difficult time – and that includes direct assistance. With partners like the City of Baldwin Park, these collaborative initiatives reflect the values of equity, compassion and action while helping families stay together, stay housed, and stay healthy.”
