The Los Angeles County Emergency Rent Relief Program is now accepting applications for Round 2 beginning Monday, February 9, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. Eligible tenants and landlords may apply for financial assistance to cover past-due rent and related housing expenses resulting from emergency financial hardship.
The program provides grants of up to six (6) months of relief, with a maximum of $15,000 per unit (limited exceptions apply). Eligible expenses may include unpaid rental debt, utilities, and other verified housing-related costs. Payments are made directly to the landlord to satisfy the tenant’s rental debt.
Important: Both tenants and landlords must complete their respective portions of the application. Applications will not be considered unless both parties participate. Tenants may now initiate the application process on their own; however, landlord participation remains required.
The application window closes March 11, 2026 at 4:59pm.
