Pilot and a part time Tactical Flight Officer to the program. The helicopter operates 7 days per week, and it is an invaluable tool to increase the safety to our officers and expand our availability to the public. Because of its speed, the helicopter is often the first police presence at the scene of an incident. The helicopter tactical flight officer is able to direct officers for a more effective response to criminal activity or an emergency. The Air Support Bureau uses Robinson R44 helicopters, capable of seating 4 persons. The aircraft are equipped with Forward Looking infrared (FLIR) to assist in the finding of hiding suspects or lost persons.
